Diffusing Glucose Molecules
Molecules in aqueous solution will diffuse down their concentration gradients,
until they finally reach a uniform concentration or are prevented by a barrier such
as a cellular membrane.
This can be seen in the simulation, where the purple dots represent glucose
molecules in aqueous solution. Initially, all the glucose is distributed in the
left half of the solution, but watch how rapidly the molecules spread out to
reach a fairly uniform concentration.
Note the buttons to pause the simulation and to restart it from the beginning.
